The Way To Get The Most Away From Physical Therapy

But showing up to the appointments isn't enough to achieve the best results. Consider Taking Notes



Patients receive a lot of information at physical therapy appointments, especially in the beginning. Don't be afraid to bring a paper and pen and take some notes. There is a good chance that some exercises or activities can be done at home in order to promote physical improvement. By writing down the details or even taking pictures of what the exercise looks like, patients can know that they are doing things correctly. At the same time, this notebook can be used to jot down questions that may come up along the way. At the next appointment, the questions for the therapist will be readily available.



Complete All Exercises

It can be tempting to skip out on some of the requirements or exercises. Some may not really feel like they are making any difference. But in reality, each activity is an important part of the process. Skipping out on some or all of the activities could be problematic and require therapy for longer than intended. Instead, keep track of the work that is being done. Make it a priority. Use that same notebook mentioned above to ensure that everything is done to keep recovery or improvement on track. This also allows patients to bring the notebook in to show the therapist how things are progressing at home.

Lots of people like to weigh in on PT. Some want to suggest other activities that might help. Some might say that going to physical therapy really doesn't matter.
